To start a streak on Snapchat, you can send a photo or video snaps to another user. You have to make sure that you send only photo/video snaps. You can't send text messages or send photos from your camera roll. Just use the camera roll and send them as a snap. It will count as one snap. Alternatively, you can start a streak with yourself.
